About Accor Stadium

Opened in 1999 as Stadium Australia, the centrepiece of the Sydney 2000 Olympics, the stadium has since been Telstra Stadium, ANZ Stadium and, since 2021, Accor Stadium. It hosted the 2003 Rugby World Cup final and is home to the NRL Grand Final, and on 13 November 2027 it will stage the Rugby World Cup final again, having also been chosen for both semi-finals of that tournament. For music it is Sydney’s largest concert site, used by the handful of tours that can fill a stadium. For concerts the stage usually goes at one end, which cuts the usable capacity below the sporting figure. As of October 2026, 2027 brings System of a Down (22 January), BTS with two nights of the ARIRANG tour (20 and 21 February) and Bruno Mars across four nights in March.

Getting to Accor Stadium

Olympic Park station is around ten minutes on foot from the gates along Olympic Boulevard. For stadium-sized crowds Transport for NSW usually adds direct event trains from Central and the western suburbs, plus event buses from several hubs; the return trip is managed with queueing pens outside the station, so expect a wait of 20 minutes or more after a full house. Many big stadium events include public transport in the ticket price, but check your own ticket. Car parks across the precinct fill early and are slow to empty; a drop-off away from the precinct often works better.

Tips for a show at Accor Stadium

Stadium concerts usually split into a standing floor near the stage and seated tiers around the bowl. Lower-tier side seats give a clearer view than the far end of the upper deck. The roof covers most seats but not the floor, so bring a light rain layer in summer. Food outlets are inside; the walk back to the station is the bottleneck, not the exit gates.
