Liberty Hall at a glance

Liberty Hall opened in 2022 in the room previously known as The Hi-Fi and later Max Watt’s, and is run by the team behind the Mary’s venues. It holds about 1,200, mostly standing, and in 2027 it is Sydney’s busiest home for heavy music on our list: Carpenter Brut, Igorrr, THROWN, Citizen with Drug Church, Kylesa with Solkyri, Against the Current, honestav and, in August, Crush 40. The room sits next to the Hordern Pavilion, so on a busy night both venues can empty at once. Its bookings lean towards metal, hardcore, punk and electronic acts, plus cult tours that would be lost in a bigger hall.

How to get to Liberty Hall

Liberty Hall is in Building 220 of the Entertainment Quarter on Lang Road, right next to the Hordern Pavilion. Take the L2 or L3 light rail to Moore Park and walk 5–10 minutes into the precinct, or catch a bus along Anzac Parade or Oxford Street. From Central it is about a 30-minute walk. The Entertainment Quarter car park is the closest parking, but on stadium nights the whole area is congested. After the show, rideshare pick-ups are easier from Anzac Parade than from inside the precinct.

Liberty Hall 2027: seats, bags and timing

A single flat floor means sightlines depend on getting in early. Merch tables near the entry get busy on heavy nights. EQ bars are a short walk away for before the show. Earplugs are a good idea for the heavier bills, and some shows are 18+, so check the listing.
