Enmore Theatre 2027

Enmore Theatre at a glance

The Enmore has been a theatre since the early twentieth century, and its current Art Deco form dates from the 1930s. It is Sydney’s best-known mid-size room, with a sloping stalls area that can be seated or opened to standing, and a balcony above. Its famous nights include a surprise club show by The Rolling Stones in 2003. In 2023 Enmore Road became the first Special Entertainment Precinct in New South Wales, a planning change aimed at keeping live music viable on the strip. Our 2027 list has more dates here than anywhere else in Sydney, from Rodrigo y Gabriela and Public Image Ltd in January to Squeeze in April and Tash Sultana in May.

How to get to Enmore Theatre

The theatre is on Enmore Road, a few minutes from the King Street junction in Newtown. Newtown station and Stanmore station on the Inner West line are each about a 10-minute walk away, and Inner West buses run along Enmore Road and King Street from the city. After a late finish, King Street is busy and well lit for the walk back to the station or a rideshare pick-up. Street parking in Newtown and Enmore is scarce and heavily time-limited, so driving is the worst option on a show night.

Before your Enmore Theatre concert

When the stalls are standing, the floor slopes gently towards the stage, so even the back half sees well. Balcony seats are reserved and suit longer sets. Enmore Road and King Street have dozens of bars, pubs and cheap restaurants within a few minutes’ walk. Tickets for Enmore shows are sold through Ticketek. For sold-out standing shows the queue can stretch along Enmore Road, so arrive before doors if you want the front of the floor.
