About Carriageworks
Carriageworks occupies the nineteenth-century Eveleigh railway workshops and has been a contemporary arts centre since 2007. Its high brick halls host exhibitions, theatre, a Saturday farmers market and occasional large dance events. In 2027 it is the setting for Fatboy Slim’s three Sydney nights, from 5 to 7 March. The main halls are large industrial spaces with the original brick walls and roof trusses kept, which suits big dance events, and the site is a short walk from the South Eveleigh precinct.
Getting to Carriageworks
Redfern station, one stop from Central on most lines, is about a 10-minute walk away via Wilson Street. Buses along Cleveland Street and City Road also get close. Parking on site is limited, so trains are the easier option, especially for late club-style finishes. Macdonaldtown station on the Inner West line is also close to the western end of the site. Late finishes limit train options, so check the last service before you go.
Tips for a show at Carriageworks
Event layouts change from show to show, so read the event details for start times and set times. The halls are big and can feel warm in summer; dress light. Redfern and Newtown are close for food. Bring photo ID if the event is 18+.
