About Allianz Stadium
The rebuilt Sydney Football Stadium reopened in 2022 on the site of the 1988 original, with a roof that covers every seat and a capacity of about 42,500. It is the home of the Sydney Roosters, NSW Waratahs and Sydney FC, and during the 2027 Rugby World Cup it is listed for pool and round-of-16 matches. Its rectangular shape puts the back rows much closer to the action than an oval ground, which also suits concerts with a stage at one end. As of 9 October 2026 we have no 2027 concert confirmed here; when one is announced, it will appear on our calendar and the Sydney alert will carry it. The stadium shares Moore Park with the SCG, so on nights when both are busy, crowds and traffic double.
Getting to Allianz Stadium
The stadium is part of the Moore Park sports precinct beside the Sydney Cricket Ground. The L2 Randwick and L3 Kingsford light rail lines stop at Moore Park, right outside the precinct, after a few minutes from Central, and they run at higher frequency on event days. Walking from Central takes around 25–30 minutes via Foveaux Street and Moore Park Road, and from Bondi Junction a little longer. Buses along Anzac Parade and Oxford Street also get close. Parking in Moore Park is limited and fills fast on match days.
Tips for a show at Allianz Stadium
For concerts, the steep stands mean upper-level seats still feel connected to the stage. The light rail queue builds quickly after an event; walking ten minutes towards Central or Surry Hills before catching transport can save time. The Entertainment Quarter next door has bars and restaurants for before the show. Bag and re-entry rules are set per event, so check the event page in the week of the show.
